Qualifications for Miss Teen Africa UK® 2023

If you are single (never married), have never given birth to a child, are of African heritage and UK resident, and are between the ages of 15 and 19, we invite you to apply today! Our pageant is designed to be an excellent vehicle for advancing your career and personal goals.

• To become MISS TEEN AFRICA you must be at least 15 and under 19 by January 1, 2022.

Phases of Competition

As a contestant, you will be judged in three equal categories – Personal Interview,  Traditional Wear (Teen), and Evening Gown. *There may be a performing talent competition.

• Evening Gown–25%
• TOP 5 On-Stage Questions -15%

Community Service

Contestants will do a minimum of 10 hours of community service. They will be made based on their leadership skills displayed during the service project(s). They will be judged based on their ability to get their friends and community involved in their service project. Their score will include the creativity of their activities, as well as the creativity in their video clip presentation about their community service project. Contestants will prepare a video clip to display their community service.

SPORT/ACTIVEWEAR

This is your opportunity to channel your inner Serena Williams. This section was introduced in 2017 and quickly became popular as a replacement for the swimwear competition. Contestants will have the opportunity to model any active or sportswear of their choosing, whether the ones they desire to be or fit them personality-wise.

TRADITIONAL WEAR 

Traditional wear is part of Miss Teen Africa. The contestants will be judged on style, knowledge of culture, confidence, and presentation on stage. This category is about the cultural girl and the connection to her root!

EVENING GOWN

This is your moment! Select a gown that shows off your sense of style and personality. Judges will be scoring you on poise, confidence, grace, and elegance. You do not need to spend a fortune on this dress. Gowns should fit well and flow as you walk. Wear what makes you feel confident and like a winner!

TOP 5 ON-STAGE QUESTION AND ANSWER

This portion will be judged on the girl’s overall presentation and impression. The judges will judge this portion after they have seen the girls compete in all phases of the competition. The girls will be judged on their presentation of their answers as well as their overall impression during the competition in all phases.
